About

We are a group of volunteers comprised of residents from Salem, Massachusetts and nearby who share a love for Greenlawn Cemetery as a place of peace and beauty.  We welcome everyone who cares and shares a love for Greenlawn Cemetery to join our group.  We love Greenlawn and all it offers our neighborhood, nature, and loved ones who rest there.

Our Mission Statement

We are a neighborhood group of volunteers who are working to restore, beautify and maintain Greenlawn Cemetery now and in the future through grants fundraising and public awareness.

Meetings

We hold a monthly meeting on the last Tuesday of the month at 6:30PM at the Mayor Jean A. Levesque Community Life Center located at 401 Bridge St in Salem, MA.

Events and Tours

We hold two free historical/nature tours every year as well as other activities within Greenlawn Cemetery.  These tours are typically held in the spring and fall and focus on the history, trees, nature, and interesting people buried in different parts of the cemetery.  All of our tours are different and are free to the public.  Information on upcoming events and tours are posted to the site as well as our Facebook group.  Please join us there at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/FriendsofGreenlawn/

We want you in the loop!

Happenings, events, tours, clean up days, meetings, and anything else that concerns Greenlawn Cemetery is posted to our Facebook group (link in paragraph above), this site, and communicated via our private email list.  To join our email list, please click on the “Contact Us” link at the top of the page and fill out the form there.  Again, this list is private and your email will not be shared nor sold.
